The elements of heraldry: containing the definition, origin, and historical account of that ancient, useful, and entertaining science. The divers sorts of coats-of-arms in use; with their essential and integral parts displayed separately. The several marks by which bearers of the same coat-of-arms are distinguished from each other. The different kinds of tinctures, lines, figures, charges, and ornaments used for coats-of-arms. The laws of heraldry; practical directions for marshalling coats-of-arms; and the order of precedence. The hatchments so clearly described, that the branch and title, the deceased was of, may be readily known.
