Additional details:	Das legendäre Buch der Westmark ist längst verschollen, und nur Teile davon existieren in verschiedenen späteren Abschriften. Eigentlich war es Bilbos Tagebuch, das er nach Bruchtal mitnahm und das später Frodo zusammen mit eigenen Notizen ins Auenland zurückbrachte. Diese Fragmente und Anhänge, vor allem die Hobbits betreffend, und dazu einzelne Lieder und Gedichte, die häufig an den Rand der Manuskriptseiten gekritzelt waren, sind die wichtigsten Quellen für die Geschichte des Ringkriegs.
