1958- | born in Singapore, trained in Australia, teaches Chinese Studies at Monash Univ.: Associate Professor, Monash University, born in Singapore, received her B.A. (Hons) from the Australian National University in 1982 and her Ph.D in Chinese literature from the University of Melbourne in 1989, conducts research, supervises and teaches in several areas: Chinese intellectual and literary history from the 1890s to the present; contemporary Chinese thought; comparative literature and critical theory; and studies of cultural flows in the digital age. She is a member of Research in Literary Studies in the Faculty of Arts at Monash and an Adjunct Director of the Australian Centre on China in the World, based at the Australian National University.
